Has anyone been having any valve cover gasket leaks? My Grandsons 03' HO has started to leak around the sides of the gasket. He only has 9,000 miles.

I am sort of getting a seep from the valve cover. Not a leak by any means, just enough to collect dirt. Mine however seems to be coming from the fill cap, like I dripped a little and it ran under the pretty plastic cover. maybe also from the filter/oil catcher thing on the blow-buy tube.

Oh may be I should not have said any thing brand F or C might through it in our face that the trucks don't repel dirt:p

*Pretty* plastic valve cover cover? LMAO Tim :D

I took a wrench an' ripped mine offa there and tossed it in a box in the corner of the garage :)

I dribbled some oil around the fill hole and it eventually ran rearward and came out from underneath, giving the appearance of a leaky gasket. With the thing offa there I don't have that problem anyomore.

Wayne if that's not it, ask him if he's using Amsoil. That's probably what's causing his oil leaks :p

LOL. . . couldn't resist ;)

Ya'll wanna see something funny while on the subject of slamming amsoil? Goto ebay's home page and type in amsoil, and see what it say's where it asks you "did you mean" with search results:-laf (nothing wrong with amsoil, just thought it was funny

I noticed that on mine the last time I changed oil. Just enough seep to catch dust. I just cleaned the engine so I will keep an eye on it. Around 26000+on it.

i noticed it on 4xquadrod in his readers gallery that his is leaking just like mine. has DC retourqe my bolts still leaks i think. we will see mine is leaking all the way down the vavle cover on the turbo side only. i knew other people were going to have the same trouble as me. i think there will be a TSB on this one. pi$$es me off you? oh yea it looks like the oil is barley coming out of the oil plugs in the head also. :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :eek: :-{}

my guess is a bad set of gaskets cant be miss tourqed bolts on all of these trucks. what do you guys think?

1. miss torque

2. poorly deck head

3. bad gasket

did i leave a possible choice out?

i feel a TSB coming on this one

It took me a minute to see it but when I did I just about fell off my chair:-laf How profound!

I mean I know some guys love this stuff but thats taking it a little far isn't it? At least I know better than to sniff an open bottle of it now.

What makes that word, assoil, even more ironic is this:

The definition of assoil is "to absolve". Absolution is a remission of sins pronounced by a priest (as in the sacrament of reconciliation). Catholic priests and assoil, who would have known. That explains a lot.
