I have changed my injectors and I think I may have a small oil leak on the back of the motor from the valve cover. It was verified today when changing my oil when I saw oil on the bottom of the transmission.

I was wondering what the torque specs. were for the valve cover bolts. I did not want to overtighten them.

The number 18 is right but it's in. lbs. You run the possibility of breaking the valve cover if you torque the cover bolts to ft. lbs. :{

that torque spec is right. But if i remember correctly those bolts are shoulder bolt style and if torqued correctly and the valve cover still leaks it's time for a new gasket that hasn't been compressed yet.

I've had mine off 3 times in the past 20k to play with valve adjustment & install some DD1s. The first time I called to order a new valve cover gasket & found out the gasket(from Dealer) was about $100. I looked hard @ my original, cleaned it & have reused it all 3 times. It has close to 100k on it now & I don't have any leaks. It is designed to be reusable(Thank God), as long as your carefull with it.
