Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Valve Cover

There was a post a few months ago about replacing the stock Dodge valve cover with a Cummins red or black cover. Has anyone doe this recently and what were the prices for the new covers? Probably have to get this through the local Cummins shop. Other than replacing the gasket also, where there any difficulties in getting the original cover off? How difficult is it to remove the black piece of plastic on the tailgate? Will use a heatgun so that should soften up the glue or whatever was used to apply it in the first place.
