I never said I pushed over 3100rpm. My truck pulls to 3100rpm's and stops. I have seen many 6 speeds pull past this,so I assume this is an automatic problem.

but the truth is that you ran 116mph---how if you never went over 3100rpm? you said before you had a bd speed eliminator, if your not going over 3100 then what do you have it for? im confused

I thought the auto's would govern (MPH not RPM) at 107 or something. The BD box gets rid of tq management and your speed (MPH) governer. When RC hits 3100 his motor will not spin past this due to engine defueling.

He's fooling the speed defuel point with the BD piece but hitting the rpm defuel point that the BD does not get rid of. The rpm limit takes a downloader or a different flash to get rid of the 3200 redline. You can extend that with a lot of top end fuel and get past it, which I would guess is happening in a lot of these cases, but I haven't seen any hard evidence that it is actually being removed on most of them.

There is a difference in the flashes to the ECU and some of the limiters are not present or are different from 04. 5 thru the 05 models. The 3200 redline should be the same auto or manual but it isn't always. If you are lucky enough to have one that will rev over the limit DON'T EVER HAVE THE DEALER REFLASH IT or you might be in for a big disappointment the next time. :)

Thanks cerberusiam for explaining that, you said it better than I could of. Now I need to figure out how to fix it.

Read the 2nd paragraph in my post above. :)

The limiters and such are all over the board depending on year and flash version. You have an 04 which is a different critter all together with TQ management. ;)

Yeah, 3rd Gens start to taper off at 2900 RPMs and are done after 3200. The BDDL fuels hard all the way to redline. I'm sure other downloaders probably do the same. Load up a programmer and go play!!
