I just installed my new 14cm turbo housing and Pacbrake, everything is ready for the new custom 4" exhaust but I can not find out how to change the flippin' exhaust springs. I have done it twice on gas engines, pull the spark plug, apply air, and use a spring compresser. Easy enough. Can anyone tell me how to do it on my Cummins, please? I can't wait to get this thing running. Just a note. On the Pacbrake they say to put the vacuum switch on the intake horn, I didn't like the hoses running up and over the middle of the engine so I put mine on the wiper motor bolt. Looks MUCHO better and really fits nicely.

I changed mine recently and here is what I did. I put the motor up on # 1 TDC with the timing pin. I then changed the # 1 exhaust spring using one of those special spring tools for a head still on the motor. The piston keeps it from falling. A cummins 6TB fires on 120 degree intervals, so I rotated it 120 and changed the next exhaust spring in the firing order. I do not have my manual here, but I am sure someone does. I had to mark the balancer at 120 intervals to get it right. I do not think that it was too critical because the valve stem seal seamed to hold it in place also. It worked for me.

I was wondering if the piston was high enough to hold the valve. Is the firing order on the engine? What is the firing order. Thanks for you help.

Valve springs

I have to put the 60lb springs on a 96 modle. Where do I get the tool for puting in springs and how hard is it to get to the #5 and #6 cylinder. Looks like it can be fun under the fire wall.

Thanks for the help. 153624= firing order. Hope this helps.
