Adjusted my valves last weekend and was wondering what size exhaust valve springs I have? The exhaust spring has a white color code stripe on them. Is this the 60# springs?

If you bought the truck new and know you didn't replace the springs, they are not the 60# ones. The ISB engine was the first to come with the 60# springs OEM.

You can tell by looking at them. Roll engine over until you get both valves on any cyl. up and free at the same time. Then just look at the intake valve spring compared to the exhaust valve spring, if you have the 60lb. springs the exhaust one will look slightly pregnant compared to to the intake one.

Just trying to get an education here. The stronger valve springs are only a benefit if one is using an exhaust brake correct?

Thanks,

Ryan
