My dealer rotated my tires at my second oil change last week. Didnt bother to change the valve stem extenders and now I can't get to the rear valve stems.

I heard that those chrome extenders some shops sell leak air.

What are you guys using to get air in and out of the duallies? I need something fairly convenient since I load/unload my slide-in camper 2 or 3 times a month and need to adjust tire pressure.

I use a metal long valve stem mounted in the rim. The inside stem is probably 6" long. I use a metal stem for the outsides as well and on the fronts. Those stems are about 1" + long.

I do not rotate them like I use to. I rotate them front to back and leave the insides where they are.

Move 'em

In the rotation I had done, they did similarly, but I just took the extenders off the front wheels (had been rear wheels) and put them on the rear ones. . Took the caps off the rear ones and put them on the front. A bit of a squeeze reaching them, but doable... .

I had the same problem adjusting the tire pressure in my dually tires. I too haul a slide in truck camper and adjust my tire pressure often. See TDR Issue 44, page 55, for my solution.

Da fix

I just took a dual headded fill gizmo and added a 6" nipple for added length to give more stibility and allow me to put more preasure for holding it it position added a Wally world combo gage and pistol grip fill valve and it works well. . As far as an air pump, I have an inverter and a Bosh (I think it is anyway) pancake pump from the nail gun setup :)

Where did you get that dual headed fill gizmo?
