All right Ive been having some weird issues with my truck... not happy right now. When I start it up, cold, it blows a pretty heavy amount of bluish/gray smoke out of the tailpipe and seems to idle rough like its missing. Rev it up or drive it, fine no probs. Wait till engine is warm drive 10 minutes and it goes away only does it when cold.
Also when I out it in gear with my foot on the brake it will knock sounds like a gasser with too low of an octane rating. Kinda has a chirping/knock sound. But only at idle in gear. Put it in park or take foot of brake, to let rpms come up and it goes away. Ive unhooked box to eliminate it but it still knocks and vibrates. Sounds like its in valve train (# 4 cyl. area) I used a mechanics stethascop to listen to motor, farther back i got noisier it was.
Im really baffled by this and bummed out any help would be greatly appreciated.
P. S. If I have to run through the valves, I would need detailed info on this, I. E. how to get to TDC at what time, TDC for each cyl, adjust all 4 valves at the same time? etc. etc. etc.
Ive adjusted valves on a small block before but Im sure this is different.
