Bought a FASS and Won One!

Thanks

Not wanting to start an oil war or anything just curious what those that have used Valvoline's Premium Blue thought of it?

My baby is pushing the 100k mark and I was thinking of buying her a better oil from here on out. I already use Fleetguard Strat's for the filters just debating on an oil brand change.

Thanks

DB

If thats the oil you are using now I would keep on using it. I am using it now just because thats what they put in it and have know problems with it. Don't use any and stays clean looking. After I get this one broke in I will start using Amsoil 15W40.

I used it for an oil change-- the 5w-40 Prem Blue Extreme. I didn't care much for it. I went back to Delo. When I switch back to Syn, it will be with a REAL syn like Royal Purple or Redline.

Sorry if I *accidentally* left Amsoil off the list:)

Did a little research myself today and I think the consensus is to stay with the oil that's been running in the truck.

So to that I will be running the old faithful Rotella T for the life of the engine, and continue to change it at every 5,000 mile intervals.

I used it once or twice, was impressed with how it cleaned the engine, evidenced by how long it took the oil to turn black at the next change. It's got a big 'C' on the bottle :)

I am using it now. I just buy the gallons and usually buy 3 at a time. Well, NAPA was out of Rotella so I used the "Blue". Works good for me!

Just changed my oil for the first time on this truck. I used the premium blue based on the fact that it states it was developed with cummins.

I will be changing oil every 5K so we will see what happens.

I used a standard fleetgaurd this time, since the place I went didn't have the stratapore type.

Doesn't that mean the oil detergent is not working and leaving the soot behind on engine components?

MOBIL 1 SUV

Wally world is changing there oil set up, and putting MOBIL1 SUV on the selves. so far i've only seen the quarts $4. 99 each.

From my searching and my buddy who is a chemist for a major oil company, you cannot go wrong with any group 4 synthetic. My truck is only up to about 60K but my wife's Maxima has 160K. I change the Mobil 1 every 10K and it doesn't burn enough to notice over that time. Never have had to add oil between changes. Just make sure it's diesel oil for diesel engines (Delvac, RP, Redline, Amsoil, etc. ). MHO
