There's a used on in the classifieds - asking $450. I bought mine used for $300 when everybody was upgrading to Edge boxes.

Brian,

Is the Edge box suppost to be better? I'm not looking for a fueling box, only little more for towing.

I'm not sure better is the right description - I think 'different' is more applicable. At the time, Edge was coming out with their Comp (adjustable) box and everybody jumped on the band wagon because the Edge box had more power potential than the VA and the Edge only 'pin-pricked' the wires as opposed to Scotch-lok 'nicks'. The Edge was/is a little less obvious to the warranty police compared to the other adjustable boxes. The older VA's don't do anything with boost pressures - the newer ones do. The Edge EZ is similar to the new VA's or vice versa - both are plug-in boxes that interface with the stock connector so no wires are nicked.

I've been very happy with my VA - great bang for the buck at $300. IMO the old style VA is not worth the ~$600 asking price for a new one. The new version with boost enhancement may be a different story. I haven't driven/riden in an Edge EZ equiped truck so I don't know how it performs.

I do wish I had a bit more power while towing - I'm thinking of adding a boost fooler & 275HP injectors. I can't imagine towing our 5th wheel w/o the VA - the truck has a lot less power w/o it.

I have driven both extensively ( the VA and the EZ ). I find that they both make about the same peak power when you use a boost module with the VA, but that the VA comes on a lot earlier in the RPM range. It seems to make a lot more power under 2000 RPM than the EZ. If you have an auto transmission the EZ will be gentler to it, if you have a manual the VA feels like more bang for the buck to me. Add a set of 275's or DD1's to either box and you have an awesome towing setup.
