The Tech manual says 150,000 miles. There isn't any reference in the manual for anything like a valve adjustment at 24K miles. Keep rotating those tires and changing the oil till you get there.

Read the book again... 24V engines can go 100k+ before adjustment, although I wouldn't really go that long. I'll check mine at 50k and base my adjustment schedule on what I find. Others will have different opinions, but everyone will agree your truck is ok.

Were can I find a procedure on 24v adjustments. I had an issue of the TDR magazine with the procedurebut the wife threw it away.

PROSTAR, did you send her to her room?

I don't let mine get away with things like that- should be some punishment!

I'm married to the best woman in the world!!!

BUT if she threw any of my magazines away, I would withold sex for a few days to get even!!!!!!

You would withold it from her or she would withold it from you??? I think we all no that answere;) Besides if you withold it from her youd be punishing yourself!!!!:D :D :D :D

I did a search, the only procedure that I found was from Chad Sheets and it was for a 12 valve. I think that I can use his 12 valve procedure just not sure if the tolerance values are the same for 24 valve. Anyone have the tolerance values for the 24 valve.

Clearances are . 010" intake & . 020 Exhaust, 12V & 24V.

My Moms 99 had 125,000 miles on it when I did the valves for the first time and only 2 or 3 were out of spec:eek: Oo. So I would not worry about it at anything less than 100,000.

That was the info I was looking for thank you very much!!!! I know what I will be doing first thing Saturday morining. I have 192K and the first time I had the valves adjusted was around 95k. I think I will give it a go this time.

Thanks for the help
