VB/TC questions

I am considering upgrading to Bill K. VB/TC. When using 2nd gear lock-up during deceleration does this provide more breaking capacity when going down steep hills? Would this be a safe way to retard speed when pulling a 5th wheel or would the EGT's be in trouble? My truck is completely stock at this point. Would the VB/TC be a noticable improvement? I am planning on mild BOMBING later (EZ). Any comments will be appreciated.

I have a lock up torque converter and one of the best things is the ability to lock up second gear. This is great for going up hills and coming down them with the exhaust brake on. Mine is not from Bill but from Dunrite.

You will not lock up the DTT TC in second for acceleration or hill climbing as the fluid coupling is so tight you will not need to stress the l/u clutch. For exh. brake, his TC Saver will take care of everything.
