How do you get excel spreadsheet &/or graph into message?

I upgraded the vBulletin software tonight because of some security issues that had been discovered in the version we were running. I had to replace almost every file in the software and put in all of the hacks that I've added. With all of those edits there's a decent chance that there may be some issues. If you have any problems please let me know and I'll get on them ASAP.

I'm not sure what you mean - can you explain further? What do you mean by the scrolling ads? You won't see much difference with this version - it just fixed bugs and security issues.

DUNNO what's up, but this evening I was trying to post one of my typical windy long posts, and the website seemed to hang up and not allow posting - I eventually had to break the post into several smaller "bites" and post in pieces - over in the 24 valve engine section under "special intake ducting" thread...

Must have been something on your end Gary. I just did a cut and paste of all of your posts on that page and it posted instantly for me. Looked through the server logs and don't show any increased loads around that time either (loads were . 1 on the web server and . 04 on the db server - 2. 0 being 100%).

Steve, it looks like the problem was caused by my adding comments INSIDE a quote by another poster, rather than outside - if I delete that portion of my message, the rest goes just fine. I've never done added comments that way before this, so don't know if that is a new issue, or has always been a no-no...

Anyway, now I know, and will handle responses the "old way" from here on out...

Private Messages hangs up computer

The private messages worked fine this morning, but this afternoon when going to preview a message the computer locked up.

It did the same thing yesterday too! Another member who tried to PM me said his computer locked up 4 times yesterday!

It just took 5 minutes for the preview message screen to appear. Task manager was showing 50-60% CPU usage, but when the preview screen appeared it dropped to normal 0-2% usage. So I previewed the message and clicked "submit" and now the window is locked up again! CPU usage is back up to 52%.

Are you using the WYSIWYG editor? and was that previewing the message you just typed or previewing a private message? Just trying to recreate your problem. Also, what browser & version are you running? I can't imagine how anything on a web page could cause your PC to lockup or to drive the CPU load that high but I want to try to replicate your problems. I haven't heard this from anyone else.

Not sure what the WYSIWYG editor is, but I get on private messages and then try to preview or submit a message I just typed and the computer locks up for a few minutes. Eventually it will go through though.

On normal posts there's no issues with previewing or submitting a post I just typed.

Also, just navigating around the site or searching - no issues either - just seems to be on the PM page (the page from the link on the upper right under you last visited... ).

I am running IE 6. 0. 2900. 2180. xpsp_sp2_gdr. 050301-1519 according to "About Internet Explorer" on Windows XP

Hope this helps!

I also have a problem with PM's. I tried to send a response 2 different times and it just locked up.

I had to cntrl alt delete to quit the program. I did an email response and it went right through

I've verified the problem and will look into it later tonight. If you do not have a quoted message in it you won't have a problem. It doesn't actually lock up - it just takes a while to process. For now if you are replying to a message if you delete the quoted message in the text before you respond you won't have any problems.

The "quoted message" bit is the same problem I noted here earlier - I thought it was because I had added comments inside the quote - but turns out that any time I add more than a paragraph or so below a quoted message, it either locks up or is VERY slow to clear - that is in the open forums, not the PM area - I suspect the 2 problems are related...

Yes the two problems were related. I've fixed it now - you will have to close any browser windows that you had open before I implemented the fix - about 8:05 pm eastern in order to load the new javascript file. It was a bug in v3. 0. 8 and their recommended fix was to revert to the 3. 0. 7 version of that file and that took care of it. Just took a bit of digging to find it.

Same here...

Slow, sometimes locks up

Close your browser window (or reboot your PC) and start again. I fixed that problem about 2 1/2 hours ago but if your PC is loading that file from your cache you'll still have the problem. Javascript files are usually cached until you close all your browser windows and reopen them.

The one from Bully dog, one about steering part, Cummins, one about Transmission & parts and other advertisements do not show up. I did not even know they were there until I logged on use a computer at work. I do allow pop ups and have not knowingly blocked these ads.

Another possible problem.

I received a PM with several links to threads (here is one: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22778 ) When I click on the link it takes me to a page that says I am not authroized to view that page, "moderators corner" is highlighted.

Thanks.

That post was removed after you received that notification because it was an advertisement. When we remove posts we move them to the moderators corner to keep a record of them (that forum is only visible to moderators).
