Ok just bought this truck off eBay and drove out from San Antonio last weekend. No problems on 1800 mile drive but developed a fuel leak on the VE pump as it got here. Seemed like the base of the KSB valve body and checked Dodge dealer who was worthless. Checked Cummins West in San Leandro and they refered me to Diamond diesel who sold me the Bosch Gasket Kit 'DGK 121'. Changed out o-ring and found out the leak was coming from the bolt above it that has a metal seal and once I gained access to it and tightened it found it still leaks. OK now going to dismount the injection pump so wondering IF I don't move crankshaft and lock the injection pump whether I can unbolt the pump and slide back to the firewall an inch to pull that bolt and put on a new metal washer and leave the injection lines attached(just onbolt the brackets to allow the movement back towards firewall). Is there any ways to rotate the engine w/o that special turning tool? Can't believe one tiny leak is this much hassell. --- Truck is '93 D-250 with stock 5. 9 Cummins, #60k miles, Getrag trany and 3. 56 rear-end---. Thanks for advice guys, great forum and tons of knowledge, I have the Chiltons manual and Cummins shop manual. Bob Lanham at -- email address removed --.

Can't help you on the pump as I've never had one off, but I can tell you that the engine will turn using the nut on the alternator pulley. You have to turn the engine backwards doing it this way, but it will save you about $65 for the special barring tool. Good luck with everything else.

Good news, tried that with old belt and didn't work so while pulling it I found it was shot. Like everything except oil and filters I doubt anything has been changed in #60k. I'll mull over buying that special tool. My brother jacked his over with big straight screwdriver on flywheel teeth and even scarier he used a remote switch on his starter to bump it. I'll post on the 3rd Generation page and see if I can get the answer overe there. Thanks Bob
