Its a real pain in the butt, when I did mine I used a regular wrench to get it off by droping the vac pump down and out of the way.

You can either buy one - (Cummins or Snap On) or make one - just heat the right size 12pt - I don't remember the size - and heat and bend it into a large fish hook. There are "S" shaped wrenches on the markst that others have used that will work.

I have an "old" 1/2 inch distributor bolt wrench. It's handle is shaped in an ark and worked well. You may be able to find one a bit cheaper than the "name brand" stuff.

I use 1/2". I've got a couple of these floating around... ... can't ever find my Miller/SPX one when I want it... .

You don't even have to heat the Pittsburgh wrenches to get them to bend like that. :D

Depends on who was working the day it was made... . :D I've had some that have just split and shattered like glass, but the majority of them have held up well under a good deal of abuse... . Like last week... I had the box end of an 1 1/4" levered over the open end of an 1 1/8", with a 280lb sasquatch bouncing on the end of it..... It broke the nut loose, but didn't break..... I haven't checked to see how far the jaws spread on the open end... . :p
