I developed quite a leak on my injector pump. Being a very green wrench myself, I do have a mechanic friend helping me with this. We got the pump off and found that an o-ring was shot. What can we do now while the pump is off the truck and sitting on the bench... . other than crank up the full fuel screw of course :-laf . Basically i am looking for...

While the pump is off the truck and easily accessible, you definintely need to go ahead and.....

Thanks for any input.

Send it to me,

I'll replace the o rings and make the pump push so much fuel (if you desire) that you'll need a really big turbo, valve springs and one heavy duty clutch, not to mention head porting and upgraded boost hoses etc. etc.

Or, get the Bosch seal kit, tear into that puppy, install the gov spring yourself and turn the fuel screw in. Then you won't need much else.

Hello Mr. Bill

Not sure what you are looking to do with your truck, but here are my thoughts.

My pump is in the shop having some parts put in and a general look see. I am having a harder cam plate and rollers put in. Not sure what else it will need. I also have the 3000 rpm governer spring put in. I am in the process of doing a head gasket, so figured it was a good time to pull the pump.

There are many more on this site who are more knowlegable than I am on this subject, so I'll resign.

PS how many miles on your chariot?

DV I have almost 210K on her.

As far as plans go, i'm think mild at this point but will probably end up at wild sooner or later :-laf . Working towards a 16cm housing and bigger exhaust for now. Gauges and BHAF are already taken care of.

Geenleaf..... I think i'll lean towards just installing the governor spring and definintely the seal kit. Of course i'll turn the fuel screw just a teensie weensie bit too LOL. Are these parts available from PDR?

Bushy..... i'm waiting for a good reply from you on this one ;) . I want to be thorough while i have this thing off the truck. Also, note that money is an issue at the moment i'm sorry to say.

PDR was selling the pump rebuild parts separetly... ... ... .

When placing annother order I was told that the items I needed would only be available if I bought an injection pump or pump top.

The reason was sited as inventory-ing all the items. They are not a pump shop.

I get all my pump items from a pump shop.

I hate to say it but Scott is correct... we did put together a few "kits" for some guys but the entire process/parts/paperwork/ etc, etc makes it really hard to keep doing it at a reasonable cost for the purchaser.

It's not that we don't want to help but if we actually priced it out at a fair level it would be just too expensive for most guys to buy and then have to do the job themselves.

I was thinking of trying to make a complete pump top available and do it as a core item.

I will talk to the guy further up the food chain and see if we are/can do that.

pb... .
