VE pump question

I have an 89 & 91 cummins. They both have a stock engine. I was thinking about turning the pump up on them but I don't want to sacrafice longevity of the engine. Also the fact that they are stock is pretty rare anymore since it seems like you can't find a stock 1st gen anymore. Would they be worth more with a stock pump? Thanks in advance. Greg

If you are happy with the power level leave them alone. When I'm shopping for a used truck I prefer an unmolested one. That way I know what I'm getting.

I have read some on some sites that say as long as you don't go crazy with over sized injectors a size or so over stock your better off to leave the pump alone , my
Jetta TDI ran lie a raped are with the 205 injectors and stock pump and it would leave a haze of smoke at stop lights but yet the dealer never known the injectors were changed

If I was doing it over I would throw in some +40hp injectors in the engine and let the pump alone, when I first put my truck on the road I had a stock pump and +40hp injectors and it ran great I was running around 20 to 21 mpg with a D350 with the getrag 5 speed, later I added a BD fuel pin and 3200 rpm gov. spring and played with the fuel screw they all helped but I don't think they did as much as the injectors.

that's my thought and what im thinking with my 94 no clue what a all the talk of fuel plates etc is or how to do
