ok thanks. I was just trying to figure out about timing the motor and then steps of taking it apart to install a new pump.

There is a tick mark on the back side of the gear case (surface IP is mouted too) and then there is a tick mark in the pump they should be lined up from the factory, when you pull it apart and reinstall it line the marks back up then tighten the pump down, or you could bump it up just a little like half the size tick mark or so its like the IP mark is sitting on the case mark. i'll post up steps in a little while let me just think about it for a few tho.

That would be nice. I am looking at the timing marks on an 855D Case dozer which uses a "B " model. It is a while since we opened it and so I would like a picture of crank, cam and pump timing marks, please.

VE pump instructions

I have been asked by a few members to do a video on how to replace and set the timing on the VE pumps on the first gen trucks.

I would consider doing one if theres enough guys that would want a copy.

I would have to hire a photographer to take the video and edit it... Not sure what that will cost... .

I already have a friend that has already made a video on how to rebuild the VE pumps at home. I have been thinking it would be a good idea If I made a video

of how to install it ...

So who would want a video on the R&R on the pump????

Does anyone have any good instructions for the VE pump removal and install?

On the Case there should be a timing mark on the flywheel which you can see through a small hole, normally covered. I've got a Case backhoe. Better to use the timing mark than to try to reset it by tick mark.

My pump sprung a major leak and I will be doing the job on sunday. I can possibly take a bunch of pics and make a power point about it. It will probably take me a day to do the job and 3 months to do the presentation.

Yes, I would love to see a video on it.

I have a VCR tape and a B & C series timing tool I bought from the Mackenzie tool company about 10 years ago.

It's fairly easy to do.

Maybe they still sell them?
