Veggie diet for your dog.

Just think of all the beef by-products we could save if we started feeding our dogs avocados! I guess the only side affect of an all veggie diet is possible blindness.

Avocados for dog food? Has anyone checked on the price of avocados these days! Extremely cost prohibitive for someone like myself. (3 orphaned stray dog dogs, 11 Husky/Wolf mixed, total weight 845 pounds of animals who have a propensity to eat their weight in food every two months) Last year it was real close to half a ton of 4-legged eating/pooping machines. LOL



Besides, veggie protein has a nasty habit of causing extremely loose and large stools, which make for easier cleanup with a hose, but rough on the digestive tract.



However Dog dog's can more easily survive on a meatless diet than Wolfy type dogs.

Change in diet

I don't think Emily is going to give up all those table scraps and PB&J sandwiches for veggies - Heck the only veggies she gets is whatever salad still has dressing on it

My wife wanted me ask if anyone has a load of avocados you don't need, we'll be happy to trade a 50# bag of Premium adult dog food for a 50# bag of avocados.

Dogs love avocados! When I lived in Florida, I had a friend with a black lab that would go from 80 lb to 120 lb during avacado season. They couldn't keep Buddy away from the fallen fruit each winter. He would look like a pigmy hippo by January. Avocados are full of fat and calories.

Dogs are carnivores- I highly doubt there is a dog out there who wouldn't agree. I will admit my ausie chepherd has been known to dig carrots out of the ground and eat them entirely. Go figure. I bet he'd take that cow out in the pasture if he thought for a minute he could.
