Hey i was lookin into runnin veggi oil. i was kinda wondering the pros and cons of this. with fuel at 380 a gallon its lookin pretty good. what r some of the better kits ect.

If you go with straight veggie oil (SVO) you'll definately need to keep the fuel heated or it will gel in the tank. I had B99 soy bean oil wax in my fuel filter this winter in souther California when the temp dropped to 36 F. Now I run anti gel or B20 when it is cold out and #2 when it gets in the single digits. Other than that I have run B99 for at least 3/4 of the 60,00 miles on my truck without event. good luck.

Have you checked the Alternative Fuel forum? Quite a bit of good discussion there. A better idea instead of straight WVO is to do the DSE treatment to it, there's a long thread about it in that forum. That's what I burn in my trucks & so far so good.

I was researching this after filling up this weekend. Sounds like Veggie oil lacks the lubricating abilities of diesel/bio diesel and will wear the cylinders and injectors faster. What about distiling your own bio from Veggie oil? Sounds like a long process for the amount of usable fuel. Think I'll start driving my Hemi powered hot rod more, at . 80 a gallon les it's cheaper to drive.
