Want an ENGINE brake for your B-series?! Vote here!

For those to whom I've sent it, I'd like to hear whether it works for you or if you encounter any major problems.

It's written the way I think about maintenance, which may or may not jive with the way others think. And I'm sure there are things I've forgotten to include in the user manual.

For example, events and fuel events both have a field for engine hours. What if you don't record engine hours? I've found you can either leave that field blank or enter 0.

Thank you for sending it to me! No, it is pretty good actually, I haven't driven enough to fully put it to its paces though. I haven't even used a full tank of gas since you sent it to me! I will be doing an 700 mile trip this weekend so I will burn a couple tanks. I will be able to give more feedback then.

one quick question though, I think I know the answer but I want to ask.

Fuel rate is based on hours and gallons used correct?

my car doesn't have an hour meter so I left hours blank and it gave me an error for fuel rate.

I have only had time to have a quick look, but I know it's going to be well used.

I have driven almost 4000 miles since january 1st, and plan to enter all the data when I can slow down.

many thanks

Yes, for fuel flow rate to work you need engine hours. But it shouldn't give an error. I'll have to check the code... I probably forgot to account for the case where there are no hours for the vehicle.

Until now, I never used the fuel mileage feature on a vehicle with no engine hours, because I don't track fuel mileage on my cars - only the truck. So I'm not surprised I never caught the error.

**Update**
I think I got that one fixed. I changed the code so that it will set the fuel flow rate to 0 in such cases. The error you were seeing was because I was getting a dreaded "divide by zero" error.

Thanks for sending me the program. I have yet to enter any data or start using the program, have just perused the instructions. Hopefully, this weekend, I will have time to sit down and enter data, get it up and running.

I might even go backwards and enter data for the 3 years of records I have kept, would be excellent information to keep with all my receipts, oil analysis, etc.

Thanks again.
