im trying to install a gps in my truck and i need to tap into the vss wire somewhere, i was hoping someone could help me find a shorcut to where in line i should tap into the wiring?

under the dash?

right off the transmission?

thanks for any help i can get

hmm if its on the rear end to make wiring simple you could use the front wheel speed sensor so you have less problematic butt connectors that ever one uses these days. careful of the wire taps that are Guillotine style t- taps cuz they can cause even more problems. but then again i dont know where the VSS is on the newer rams cuz i aint had to look. i know someone is gonna chime in and tell me front wheel speed sensors aint the best idea cuz differences in speeds when turning but the only time they are really far off is in parking lots when the 20 feet triangle the gps reads aint worth beans. so less potential problems is worth it to me.

oh and if you do tap on the wheel speed sensor wiring up front do it down after on the side of the connector closest to the sensor that way you can replace the wiring and have a new sensor all it one if needed.

i taped into the sensor down by the wheel but the gps now says im doing

350 mph. i guess i need to find the wire under the dash somewhere ,anyone got any ideas?
