This is just to ***** and moan, plus to warn you... if you are planning on installing a Torklift Superhitch, you better install your Velvet Ride Shackles first. Otherwise, you'll either be removing the hitch and reinstalling it, or be like me and choose not to fool with the Velvet Ride Shackles.

This blows. I had all four bolts loose before I realized the lower shackle bolts won't come out because the Torklift hitch, being as beefy as it is, blocks its removal. The lower shackly mount is fixed so there's no other way to get the bolt out without removing the hitch. And since the hitch itself weighs right at 100 lbs, I'm not gonna try to remove it. It was a miracle I actually managed to install it by myself.

<sigh>

Been there. . done that. I feel your pain.

I put a strap around the hitch and secured the other end to the tie downs in the front of the bed. It you do it that way the hitch will rotate in the strap so the mounting "arms" fall down to vertical but the whole hitch won't drop down.

Still kind of a PITA but at least it takes the hernia factor out of the equation.
