Technically, aren't Piers twins replicas of another shops twins, or maybe they should be callsed Jasons twins?

See the trend?

LOL!!:D

Its a lot easier to build and sell 40 to 50 sets when the building is farmed out to someone else. Does that really make them Piers twins, or authorized copies of Piers twins?

Yea, you're right. I don't know or really care if piers does them himself. I was just curious. But, alot of people do have other shops build parts and sell them under their own name. Injectors,turbos,... ... etc.

When I started Looking at Twins set up I only thought of two vendors. HVAC and Piers. Nowel left us premurely . My Piers system is great fitting, sweet looking, and well though out twin system.

My bad. I didn't know that the pic I posted was Scheid's setup... l

The bottom line is that just about every vendor out there can sell you a full-blown twins setup. Some are better than others - do your homework.

That's refreshing news that OPoole will sell you the kit without the turbos... not many folks will do this.

After building my own set of twins, I can tell you with some certainty that buying the piping kit and putting in your own turbos may not be such a hot idea. The fit is pretty important and with the wild variations in turbo configurations, you might get a kit that won't work. Or will require modification anyway. Or you might get lucky and it will fit right in. So be carefull.

Aron,

That's a good point. I'm glad you brought it up. The kinds of folks that might try to go this route may not have the tools/expertise to tweak the parts to make 'em fit.

Matt

It has been my exprience, working around several different complete kits, that the fit is not so hot with them, neither!!LOL!:D

Ahhh, the price of performance.

I would have to disagree, The PDR kit fit perfect with no modifications needed at all. I am now going to try a different top turbo and all the piping is the same other than the hot pipe.

Blair which turbo are you going to try? PDR HX-40?

Blair is right about the PDR set-up it is a true bolt on set-up. The only thing I had to mod is a slight bend of the low side A/C line. It fit fine but I thought is was alittle close to the HT3B compressor housing. Piers and Jason did there home work on there set up

There are several vendors that I don't think you can go wrong with. Piers, JR Adkins, or Scheid being the main ones.

The reasons I think they all know what they are doing?

Piers, 'nuff said.

JR. has to be one of the friendylest guys out there, that can do some nice fabing job. I have seen his work, and he tries very hard, and is willing to talk to you as long as you want before and after the sale.

Scheid,

watch this and you'll understand.

Have fun, that's what all this is about. :)

SO, what you're telling me is that I could've bought a PDR kit and it woulda fit just fine?

Are you so sure?

#ad

(BTW, I'm a PDR Installer and know the quality of the kit, but not all feet can wear the same shoe, if you catch my drift).

Jim,

See the link I posted above. ;)

I can sell J. R. 's kits in many different ways. w/o turbo, w/o powder coating, w/o welding, or just material.

J. R. 's kit is a nice bolt-up kit, similar to PDR's kit.

I'm running some of J. R. 's turbo's, but not his turbo kit. Maybe I'll be up there with the Big Boys one day instead of my measly 530RWHP.
