This is my first Diesel truck and I was wondering what is a normal amount of oil to be sprayed out of the vent bottle?? It's everywhere. My steering box and front sway bar are covered as well as the bottom of my oil pan. I have 9,000 miles on the truck and have wiped this up several times. Any input would be appreciated.

That is normal....

You need to get rid of the pill bottle and re-route your vent tube away from/behind the engine..... The mess will magically disappear when you do this! :D

There are a bunch of post on this subject. Use the search feature to find them.

This is a VERY common "BOMB"

I did mine with about 3' of TYGON clear reinforced 3/4" tubing from Home Depot (not heater hose because it will deteriorate due to the oil contact). You will need a 3/4 nylon connector (Home Depot), 2 hose clamps (Home Depot), and probably a couple of nylon tie strips (Radio Shack).

I cut the existing breather tube and connected the TYGON to it and ran it down to the left frame channel. I also cut a 45* angle on the backside so it would not build up a air pressure ridge while traveling to impede the oil venting.

Good Luck, and there are a BUNCH of guys that have done this so there should not be a shortage of "help"
