Vent Visors and bug shields

I am seriously considering the weathertech vent visors! The only problem is NOONE close to me carries them. So, I will be stuck ordering over the internet. All the truck accessory shops tell me the in-channel type are horrid and they will cause a lot of wind noise! Can someone refute this or recommend another type of in channel vent visor?



I am also looking for a bugshield! I am leaning toward the Weathertech for no other reason than the colors would match. Is there a decent black bugshield that gets the bugs above line sight?

I have the AutoVentshade (Lund) brand in-channel vent visors on all four doors. They create absolutely no wind noise. In fact, they reduce wind noise when I have the driver's window down a crack.



That said, I wouldn't recommend this brand to anyone. Both of the front ones have been crushed when rolling up the window. Mine just didn't stick well at the front edge. One will occasionally turn loose and be caught when the window goes up. Hot or cold weather, driving or parked, makes no difference when it happens.



I think the days of a bug deflector that keeps bugs off the windshield are long gone. The Wade unit on my truck (dealer installed) doesn't even keep all the bugs off the hood.

I have the weathertech vent visors and love them. Have had them on 2 trucks now and never a problem. They fit in the window channels nicely. You can go to weathertech.com and order them factory direct also. That is what I did this set and they were at my door in 4 days after ordering.

I have the in-channel Auto Ventshade (Lund) vent visors. No wind noise. On occasion they did catch at the front corner edge, I solved it by sanding a little bevel on the edge. No problems with the sticking in the channel. I have noticed that they are not holding their color, fading some. Can't take the sun here. I am considering replacing them, going with the weathertech ones.

I'll second GDollenger. Mine have never been caught in a window going up and they do not produce any wind noise for me.

Not sure which you're talking about, but I have a different opinion.



The bug deflector at least keeps down the number of paint chips on the hood.



The vent shades cut down glare inside the truck and keep you from getting drenched everytime you open the window in the rain. They also allow you to park with the windows down a crack to vent the hot air without worrying about unexpected rain.



Those things make them beautiful in my book. :-laf

Whatever Geno's sells for the Mega is what I'm running. No problems. Nice to leave the windows cracked without worrying about rain. Also great for Eastern Washington. It gets warm in the summer. On my 96' I left the windows up one day. Must have been a blemish in the windshield. The trapped heat spider webbed the windshield.

I also have the weathertechs, and they've been great for me. I can't hear any additional noise after adding them. They sure are better than the stick-on autoshades that I had on my chevrolet! Eric

Iv got the inchannel type. I got them from Stylin concepts and have had no probs with them staying attatched at all.

I had the stickon type when I first got the truck and changed them to the in channel.
