Vent Whistle

Greetings folks, I have a strange problem. I get a whistle from the drivers side vent when the fan is on, and it increases to a scream as the fan speed increases.



Some observations:



1. It stops when I open any of the windows... Even just a crack. .

2. It stops if I switch to recirculate...



Any ideas ?

I just had this happen, it's due to the fan pressurizing the cabin and the air was whistling as it went through the driver's door seal. It was unbelieveably loud and went away when a window was cracked to depressurize the cabin. I adjusted the door striker in a little to shut tighter against the seal and that seems to have fixed it.

check out the tsb where the air is flowing through the holes in your vin tag sound funny i know but this maybe your problem
