I got new vent window seals from JC Whitney. In installed one, and it doesn't seem to be any better than the 20-year-old seals in my truck. JC Whitney was the only place I could find them. Does anyone produce better ones?

Maybe they would be tighter if I replace the lock handles? The plastic buttons are likely worn down on mine.

My vent glasses have the Chrysler logo on them, so I assume they are factory, they barely contact the rubber seals, and look as if the glass is too small.

Was this just a poor design from the factory with no good way to quiet them down other that sealing them closed with electrical tape? They were designed when the speed limit was 55. Going 75 puts a lot more suction on the windows and they hiss loudly.

Don,

I think your right about the design flaw, both my sons truck and mine have a certain amount of wind noise :(

Here is a link that I gave my other son for his Pontiac and I believe they also carry the seals for our trucks. http://166.82.96.9/xframes.html

It doesn't look like Steele lists anything for Dodge trucks. I was told Mopar had one passenger side rubber left in stock and no driver side seals.

Anybody know how one might get a vent glass cut to custom shape? It is curved and probably tempered.

The rubber fits in the outer frame pretty well. There is room for the glass to be bigger by an 1/8" inch or more.

I just noticed the J. C. Whitney catalog liste the vent seals for '78-'86 pickup and Ramcharge only. MY truck is an '84. Could it be that Dodge improved the design on the '87-'93 trucks?

The trucks have a year break at 78-86 & 87-93, the P/N for the later trucks are:

right 4354606

left 4354607

The Ramcharger has the same year break and P/N's, I don't know if the new gasket would work on the older windows.
