Difference Between Laramie And Laramie Longhorn

Help! Need coolant answer

So I've been under my 2013 3500 Laramie Longhorn (new to me) (54,000 mi)...

I'm still having issues with fueling... can't see any issues, but the tank will not accept fuel unless I hold the nozzle, and throttle the nozzle... it won't accept the fuel at the slowest setting...

I've tried nozzles without the splash shield and have tried several suggestions by others on this site... but can't seem to get the right angle... maybe try and twist my tongue differently.. who knows...

My tank to filler has 3 lines... all metal... fill line, vent line and an unknown line about 7/16 to 1/2" diameter going to a small can that is attached to the filler line (pipe) with a plastic wire tie... the DEF lines are easy to get to... but I see an issue to remove the tank lines at the tank and pull down the complete fill assembly.... Could this last metal line be a vent line and the can on the end of the line a filter??? maybe 1 1/2" diameter and 2 1/2" long...

Can someone share what the 3rd smaller line is coming from the tank to the filler assembly.... I can't see how to open the vent line unless I use a saw... thought I might get a tubing cutter in there and cut out a section and install a tee.... there's lots of room to run a vent hose up in a loop in the space along side the bed...

You are inserting the nozzle in as far as possible correct? There's a second flap in the filler tube that has to be open completely.

Yes that is a small vent line the ends in a filter that is zip tied to the fuel filler tube. if you top off, fuel will come out of this canister.

Here's my take on it. The small tie wrapped gizzmo is a tank vent. Some pumps are just stubborn but try to move the nozzle spray to the right because the air vent for filling comes in on the left side if memory serves me. Here's a video I once did on that subject.

BUMP, thanks for your thoughts but this didn't help much... more thoughts...

The vent that's on the 3rd line... have any of you had issues with that getting plugged with dust... and NOT VENTING correctly?

No, because that does not have much to do with filling the tank, there's a big event approximately 1/2 in hose that runs below the two checks back into the tank. it would be awful hard to plug that with Dirt and if you did, you would really have some filter issues. The best solution is to get that nozzle as far as you can down below that second check valve so that you can clear the vent line coming up from the tank.
