Venturi bypass/full flow filter combo?

I have seen a filter that I would like to try. It is sold by Cummins and is a full flow spin on filter that has a bypass section inside the shell. It looks to be a bypass system that you can spin on and does both. I did a search and found that back in 02 there was not one sold for our 5. 9, but I was wondering if that had changed or if there is one that would work.

We show that the LF3972 is the filter we offer for your application.

It does have an upgrade of LF16035 which is Stratapore media.

But, we do not offer a combo filter for your application.

This engine is used on all kinds of applications. Do you think there is one that will fit? They are making one for powerstrokes. If they get alot of letters about it they might start making one.

I checked into this filter a couple months ago thinking that it would do the same job as a regular bypass filter without all the extra equipment. I was informed that Cummins does not recommend a bypass filter for the 5. 9 in our application. FleetMaster made a VenturiCombo, at someones request, that would fit our head. I tried to get one to try here in Las Vegas but the Cummins dealer said I'd have to special order and buy the whole case at about $35. 00 apiece. I decided I didn't want to lay out that kind of money just to try it. No one else in stock it's either. In case you have better luck than I did, the part number FleetMaster said will fit is LF9028.

I just talked to our local fleetguard dealer. He also said I would have to order them in a case(12). Would anyone be interested in doing a group buy?
