After replacing my clutch, it has become very hard to move the shifer on my HD transfer case. This is while the truck is not moving in neautral with the clutch in. Doesn't matter if I'm going to 4hi or 4 lo or back to 2 hi. The shifter is almost impossible to move. Requires a great deal of force. Once in, the 4 wheel drive works perfectly. I honestly haven't had much of a chance to look under the truck much, it sounds like a linkage binding problem or something. Just figured I would see if you guys have any suggestions before I look at it this weekend.

Thanks.

Craig

I know this sounds dumb, but when you pulled the trans. The connecting lever may have been bent toward the drivers side of the truck. This will cause it to bind on the plastic housing. To check this just loosen the pinch bolt on connecting rod, (make sure when you tighten it up it is in the same gear position that you were in) then see if there is any difficulty moving the shifter without T/C activation. This is the 5 min. verification method. If there is not any drag on shifter get back down there and see if you can freely move the linkage to T/C. If the binding is in the T/C I'm not sure I can help over the net.

Good luck Mike
