Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Very low power, unusual symptoms. Please Help.

It IS a 12 valve. Read 1st post. No comment on hoof in mouth problem.

Sounds alot like mine did with just a hole in the return line... (thank you again joe. . for not cursing at me )



Low pressure. . smooth idle and rev in neutral. . No power from a stop. Aerated fuel supply.



Mine was a hole in the return line where is passes between the frame and fuel tank. I have no Idea how the newer models are built in this area.

Fuel didn't show on the tank until it was just absolutely awful and powerless. Even then the spray was a mist and inevident with the bed on the truck.



It was sucking air into the return line and pumping it into the fuel sump.



Fixed it (epoxy held for 3k miles) and the fuel pressure instantly jumped to factory spec. Good luck. CHECK EVERYTHING. Also, DO NOT underestimate the amount of fuel that returns to the tank from the motor.

The FSS being off 3/16" can affect things. I'm not sure how it would relate to low FP but it can affect power...
