I was kicking around the net today and stumbled upon some products from Europe for cleaning variable geometry turbos.

Has anyone ever seen anything comparable to this in the USA or Canada? Seems like there could be one heck of a market for this type of product on this side of the pond.

When Dodge first introduced the 6. 7 and before they got the software tuned up... they had problems with the turbos sooting up... they had the dealers remove them, clean them and and install a port which allowed them to inject a cleaner into the turbo I assume when the turbo was stopped... like a combustion chamber cleaner... you'd let the turbo sit and than start it up and the heat would clean the vanes. . by the time I bought an 08 5500 we had no problems with that truck and I later sold it with 150K miles when I retired.

The newer VG turbos had the cleaning port in the OEM turbo and there's a method that only Dodge can activate which will move the components with the engine off during the cleaning process. Hopefully in the future there will be a flash that will allow you to move the VG on demand when engine is off to help during DIYS maintenance.

The products are interesting to me because they seem to be marketed as a DIY preventative maintenance. I hate to use this term but it seems somewhat like a "mechanic in a can". Some products like "Seafoam" seem to work pretty good in my small engines. I checked out BG Products website but did not find anything similar.
Can you think of any other specialty automotive products manufacturers?
