Awhile back there was a fix ,with drawings for tapping out the screws in the mirrors. Does anyone have that thread handy?

Thanks RJ

There was a good size thread on this , but I am coming up empty on the search button. There was pictures and diagrams on

tapping out the mounting screws .

That was my post. My RH mirror was so loose it would fold back at 80mph and this worked great, tap to 1/4-20, I used Allen bolts. check post titled 94'mirrors

I tried to link that post but no go.

its in 2nd gen and set the date for as far back as possible.

Thanks for the reply. I do not have much luck using the search feature. Do I need any special tools to get the door panel off?

There is a great tool that costs about $6 that looks like a screwdriver with a nail puller on the end that makes it easy to remove those fasteners and save most of them. Almost any auto parts place should have it.

Loose Mirror

RJ2, My 97' has power mirrors and the driver side has a wobbly mirror not the whole thing loose like it swings back or anything. I took it apart which distorted the mirror even as carefull as I was. There is a socket assembly and its just a lousy design. The driver side mirror starts shaking after about 50-55. Can't see out of it after this speed. I crammed dum-dum(soft duct caulk that never harden's up) into various areas but still shakes. Had DC install 2 mirrors under warranty before I attempted to fix the third one. Still Shakes. The mirrors have a chrome finish.

my mirrors shake too. this dodge is my first and i am amazed. i have did nothing but fix crappy mfg since i bought it.

i looked for the link on the search engine but found nothing. if someone finds the fix, please let me know. thanks. scott
