Vibration at highway speeds 60 to 75

How many miles have you gotten out of them? I almost bought them but was steered away by the sales man. I use to run Michelin "X" on my 89 they would last about 80k miles I'm lucky my truck allows for light and heavy load settings on the tire pressure. I run 60 on all 4 unless i'm towing long distance then I'll pump up the rear to 70-75 psi

I got 29K out of the Firestone's. I've only had the Michelin defenders for about 1000 miles so all I can talk about is the ride not wear but the ride is remarkable. I think the Defenders have a 50K guarantee but not sure. It's a straight highway tire so I guess if one does off road stuff, they wouldn't want them, but in my case I just tow my travel trailer with them. This is the first set of Michelins I've own in my life but so far, it's nothing but good.

I just traded my '14 2500, but had a terrible time trying to fix the vibration. Had tires road force balanced a three different shops, all put the weights in a different place. Had the dealer swap wheels & tires off a new truck on the lot, still no difference, tried different drive shafts, it was always there. I put a set of centramatics on it, and that helped more than anything, but you could still always feel it just slightly. I even thought it was wind flow, or aerodynamic buffeting characteristic of the truck, because on the highway, it would get worse, but be at the same cadence, if I rolled down one or both rear windows. Never did find a way to eliminate it entirely, even with different tires. I ordered a '17 in august, the same identical truck except the new one has air suspension on the rear. It sits level, compared to the '14, and more importantly to me, rides smooth as glass.

Can you just install the Centramatics without disturbing the balance weights already installed? Might give them a try, the 2017 SRW 3500 4X4 CC SB came with pretty 20" chrome clad wheels and tires , I did not notice any vibration with them. However when I installed the Ricksons used to haul the truck camper I had those high speed vibrations others have complained about. The wheels and tires were on my old 03 and I always thought they were real smooth. I went down the rebalance route like others have with some results but still I am not happy. I do have new Bilsteins so shocks are not an issue. One more thing to complicate matters, the Ricksons used Equal, a course sand like material inside along with weights when balanced by Rickson. The tire shop said you cannot mix the two. I think Rickson knows what they're doing..... So whats up with that?

Ordered a set of Centramatics today, they said the weights can stay , and will report what I find.

I leave the wheel weights on. I tried them with out the and wasn't happy. Balance master says to remopve the wheel weights with their system I'm tempted to give them a try only they are more than twice the price of Centramatic.

Got a pair of Centramatics installed on the fronts. Seems to help. Had to send back the other pair as they did not fit inside the Ricksons. They send a combination of rings and spacers, none are enough to install the same on all four corners. So they have to send me another pair to get all four match . Kind of hokey if you ask me.

I received and installed the Centramatics on the rears today. I think they help with the last 5-10% out of balance I had. Smooth, so I think they are a plus . I cannot say that they would be the answer for everyone, but they seem to be working for me.

I think this is a wide spread issue with these Ram trucks, and being a lot more of the 2500,3500's on the road, this is probably as good a place as any to help with his problem, if the moderators wanted it moved it would be.

Maybe you have some insight to his problem, I have not had the issue ,but many have.

I had Centrimatics on my 98 and ended up knocking off the wheel weights to prevent corrosion in those spots during the winter months. 285/75/17's and were still very smooth up to triple digits on a remote section of freeway.

I will have a set for my 14 on my next tire purchase, and the weights will (hopefully) go by the wayside again .

tires can pass a road force balance and still vibrate. what i would try is indexing the tire 180* then rebalance. this has worked for me several times
