Usually when you have "seat of the pants" vibration it is in the back of the truck tires/wheels/ or something toward the rear. When you feel it thru the steering wheel or the front floor(near the go pedal) it is something in the

front.

I had a bad vibration years ago on the Mule, mechanic jacked the back end up in the air at 45 mph it almost came off the jack. I put 4 new tires on and replaced the steel wheels with aluminum.

I have a vibration now between 40 and 45 I'm pretty sure it is the tires. I will have to wait until these wear out and put another set on to find out (I took one tire back that was out of round).

I fully agree. Thats why we rebuilt the rear, redid rear shaft, rear everything. Seems that is has to be in the front. The 4 wheel jack test also seems to support this theory.

I dont get it, but it seems to be.

Bshwarzli: look for someone that's hearing impaired, due to having defective hearing, they usually have a higher sense of feel than people with good hearing. And if they're mechanics, that's makes things easier. ;)

What are you trying to say? I am not following. ;)

Now I'm too dumb to figure out a good answer to that question. :-laf

I think what I'm saying is, is that I've replaced many parts on my goat from just feel alone, not hearing. As the Cummins rattle and make too much noise for any of my buddies or, especially me, since my hearing is broke to hear most of the time. I have been able to figure out where certain vibrations come from, including wheel bearings with even a slight play and no noise and none of my mechanic buddies can feel them.

Yup. Shawn is correct. Dad does not drive the truck in the salt so short of doing jack stand only testing, the resolution will need to be seen in the spring.

That will not stop me through from inspecting front end components when I have a few minutes though. Has to be something up front. Just the questions is what.
