I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Super Cab with Cummins 5.9L engine and towing package, 6 speed manual transmission, Dodge installed exhaust brake. Also 4WD and turbo.
There is a new vibration in the engine even when idling, less pronounced when engine is running at highway speeds. The vibration is strong enough that I can see and feel it in the stick shift, as well as hear it in the passenger door. Replaced the harmonic damper pulley at the front of the engine, no change. I also notice an increase in the vibration when I depress the clutch pedal about half way. Truck has 120,000 miles on it.
People have suggested maybe a bad injector, but error code tester shows no faults in the injectors. Check engine light is not on.
Any suggestions?

More then likely, it is the dual mass flywheel (DMF) that Chrysler used to reduce noise, vibration, harshness (NVH) in the driveline. Unfortunately, the DMF is prone to failure even under normal circumstances, and it then induces MORE vibration into the driveline, before it actually disintegrates, potentially taking more out more of your clutch and transmission with it!!!

At 120k, you need to be looking at a replacemnt flywheel/clutch. There are several excellent models to choose from from South Bend Clutch, but if your truck is stock now and you like the way it drives now, and do NOT mind replacing the DMF when it goes bad AGAIN, then you can replace it with the Luk/OEM replacement parts. That being said, if you plan ANY mild power upgrades at all, the Luk will NOT hold, and you should be looking for some sort of aftermarket upgrade clutch with the standard flywheel replacement (SMF) from SBC or maybe even Valair, though my preference is SBC. I run the SBC Con-OFE with SMF conversion on my truck.

Been there, done that. I have the same truck. I also replaced the harmonic balancer with a fluid damper, and like yourself, did little to help the vibration issue. I called south bend clutch, and went not their replacement, but the second one up. Do not wait too long, because you can end up ruining the front bearing housing assembly. This is cast into the housing, and I was really close to losing the whole housing. I will try and find some pics of my old setup. If you have other questions, just ask or pm me.

Sir my truck is a 2006 5.9 Megacab G56. Before I had my SBC single disk put in it would shake the fillings out of your teeth. My dual mass flywheel was failing. My new clutch has smoothed out the vibration so much I can barely tell it is idling.
