I wanted to fix the 5th-gear problem before it happened to me. I ordered the parts from Standard transmission and had them installed by my local shop. Problem: When the accelerator is released I get a vibration and noise. The vibration is simular to a wheel that is out of balance (badly out of balance/with low growling noise). This only happens in 5th gear, I can do the same rpm and mph in 4th gear and no vibration. If the clutch is depressed the vibration and noise stop. This started with the change of the shaft and 5th gear from Standard. The problem was not there at first and then it has gotten worse over time (2k miles). I installed the transmission and clutch. What did I do wrong?
Two wheel drive, '96, 58k miles, new clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing and release bearing.
Thanks, for your help.
