Vibration in the go pedal

I get a lot of vibration in the throttle pedal when I am surpassing the 2k rpm mark, and then smooths out at about 2150-2200.



Is that normal?

Sorry CB, back tot he problem at hand? Is it a buzz or is the pedal moving? Does it happen on hard acceleration only or is it there no matter how you feather the pedal?

Gellin' like a felon, Greanleaf... it's those insole adds.



It happens on mild to hard accelaration, and it's more of a strong buzzing... it just bugs me a lot.

I get vibes from various places at different rpm ranges, different with a cold engine, warm engine, hard accel.

Never had anything thru the pedal though.

The go pedal is dirrectly linked to the pump, right?



The only problem I know of between the pedal and the pump is the end caps on that little linkeage bar are worn... could that be causing it???

No, the go pedal is a cable to the throttle linkage, or it is on mine. There should not be any way to transfer vibrations thru that cable.



Have you checked you motor mounts lately to make sure they have not collapsed and are touching metal to metal? Another problem is the transfer case mount might be collapsed and letting a vibration run thru the frame and possibly into the body.



These engines have a vibration point in them that can cause problems with clutches and transmissions so am wondering if you have some worn mounts or exhaust pipe that is touching somehwere and causing it. Mine make several noises during acceleration that are coming from the fan and trans but it doesn't effect the pedal. The short exhaust does set up a vibration in the cab that is really annoying but it usually happens at very low rpms.

How's your timing?

Sometimes if your timing is too advanced or retarded, it will vibrate at just the right pedal position, load, rpm, all combined just so-so. Seems to be if you get it too high, if I recall correctly. Do you still have the stock injectors? THey COULD be the culprit, but wouldnt be my first guess. Has this happened all at once, or has it always done it, and you just havent gotten around to mentioning it here? True, there is no direct linkage to the engine, but it seems to travel through the pedal cable when it all gets taut anyway.

It's been going on for a while, since as long as I can remember, I think... (although I can't remember what I ate for breakfast) and I do have stock injectors, but not for long.



I'll go through the mounts tomorrow.



The engine seems to be noisiest at the same time too... but at that RPM, it's peaking so I would assume that's normal.



The guy who tuned my pump said the timing needed to be bumped up a little, but not much.

Grab a hold of that t-case shifter and see if it goes away. Seems to be a common prob with these trucks. Every truck that I have owned has made some kind of noise from the t-case shifter.

Just a thought.

Yeah, I've got the parts to fix that t-case shifter... just need to figure out where they go.



I do know it's not the lever though... but that thing is very annoying anyways. Good thing it's cheap to fix.
