I still have this vibration! But it can't be in the drive line. So what can it be?
It's felt in the clutch peddle and accelerator. It's felt not moving, so it's not the drive shafts. It's felt while the trans is in gear, clutch dis-enguaged. So the trans is not spinning, just the fly wheel spinning around hte flywheel.
This is also felt while the T-case is in N and the clutch enguaged and in any gear. So it's not the throwout or pilot barring.
You feel a fast vibration and little pulses. It's more entense with RPM.
On a cold start, you don't feel any vibration at all, few momments after this (20 seconds of idle) it starts.
Millage good, well with in reason. Power is good! pulls hard, consistant.
This problem started a long while ago and it seems to betting a bit wrose, more intense just recently. The issue started after a good hard launch in a race about 25-30,000 miles ago (last year). Thought I just broke the clutch. Replaced with a SBC a little while ago and the vibration is still there.
If this was metal on metal vibration, say a barring, I'm sure my oil analist of hte trans and motor oil would of showed something. They were clean. So I'm rulling our internal stuff.
Can failed injector(s) cuase something like this? doesn't seem like they would. I don't hear a miss in the exhuast, just at times the idle is rough
The valves are tight.
This leads me to think it's in the belt/pully system. The belt looks clean with very little ware (66,000 miles worth).
What are my chances it's the dampner? What's what I'm leaning toward. Anyone to check it's condition with out pulling it off the motor?
I'm just looking for a second (or more ) set of eyes on my symptoms.
