I had a strange vibration That my mechanic coudln't figure out nor could I, It would be fine until you hit about 67mph, then it would go away around 72mph, then back again at 77 and gone at anything past 82mph. It was very strange and extremly annoying, to me it felt like it was coming from the back of the truck because you could not feel it at all in the steering wheel. the rear on jack stands running at those speeds eliminated that possiblity, Finally I got to thinking maybe its in the front, today I took the truck to the speeds it usually had the vibration and shifted the truck to 4x4, wholla it mostly went away. jacked up the front end and checked the front drive shaft and bingo bad front U joint. You can't check a U joint without also moving the driveline, so the truck must move or the wheels have to be off the ground, I would have found it much sooner if I had remembered this.

The drivline guy asked me what year my truck was I said '02, so I have no CAD, which I already knew, meaning my front driveshaft turns all the time. He said this is very common in non CAD trucks. I think this joint has been going for a long time because my truck hasn't run this smooth in a long long time at all speeds. I only have 85k on my truck and it started it around 80k, So if you don't have CAD on your truck check your Ujoint!!!!
