Over GVWR?

Had the trailer out for the first tow of the season. On the way back there is short steep grade of about a mile . You have to turn off the highway and hit it from a dead stop, so you can't really get going to fast. It stayed in second for most of the pull. I had a pretty good vibration coming from under the dash or just under the hood. Has anybody else noticed this at high RPM's in second? I have never noticed this before. Seemed to pull great, just sounded funny.

Ramfan2... I keep thinking about my trailering and can not remember this problem. I have a manual transmission... but i can't recall a shudder or vibration even with 13,000lbs on.

Didn't seem like the cooling fan. I haven't towed since last year though. Maybe just the almighty Cummins working hard under load.

I just returened

from Eastern Washington vacation. And my goal was to push the DTT auto transmission mods to the max.

This last trip took me over snoqualmie pass and blewitt pass.

The DTT modification (plus other) had me over both with more throttle than either could handle (due to turns of 55mph= max)

My gosh I have a perfect tow vehicle and could not be happier.

I will thnak the DTT crew in person in a couple of weeks.

I am very happy ;)

Sorry I forgot to mention that the cooling fan does whine at the 190F and above temperature which I am used to and some may not.

Did you go over the pass with the overdrive on while towing? I usually lock mine out, but I have heard some guys say they don't.

I can't imagine going around some of those curves any faster than the 55mph you mentioned while towing. Makes me nervous.
