Vibration

Over at DodgeTrucks.org there are a few posts about vibration in the rear ends of their 1500's (at least the 2002 model year). One of the two 2500's I test drove had a vibration. Anyone here having any problems?

The '03 Auto 2500 4x4 QC longbed & 4. 10 gears I drove had driveline vibes during acceleration. Not very pronounced but noticeable to me. It felt like it was occuring at the rate of speed the driveshaft was turning (instead of the tires/axle). Not sure if it was due to incorrect pinion angle or what but it would annoy me if I plunked down $35k on a truck and it had a vibration like that.



That is one reason ordering a truck would scare me, to have it come in and have a problem like that.

No problems with mine. 2000 miles so far. 3. 73 gears with limited slip.

I have the 4. 10 gears with limited slip and no vibration here either.

I get a slight shudder just after I let out the clutch and start to accelerate. does any buddy else experience this?

I test drove an '03 3500 SRW 4X4 shortbed last week. I noticed a definite vibration that only occured while the throttle was applied, even slightly. It felt like when I'm on snow in 4x4 in my '95 and hit a patch of dry pavement. It felt drive-line/ auto transmission related.



I told the shop Manager and he drove it, with me as a passenger. He noticed it too and said he would look into it.



The rest of the truck was so smooth and quiet the vibration was very noticable and disappointing. No way I would buy that particular truck and hope it was just a rare defect, not a design issue.

Mine has actually gotten much better as the miles pile on (1600 now). Also the throttle sticks less and the engine seems to be smoother and more quiet on the freeway.

Also my wife seems to be nicer and the kids are behaving better - or maybe it's all just my imagination... !
