The dude was/is jacked in the head, but he did his time, and already served an NFL suspension, even prior to his conviction. This whole "The NFL shouldn't let him back in" argument is something I don't understand. I've heard all the arguments, "players are role models,"... "it's a deplorable act," whatever. Bottom line is, the NFL is in the business of making money, and Vick will generate money, if he gets signed. The initial negative publicity is worth the $ in the end.

As for the offense itself, no matter how you cut it, they're dogs, not humans. I wish I could try and equate the two like many in society want to do, but I can't. It's an animal and no matter how I cut it, it's still just dogs. And yes, I've had dogs, loved dogs, understand the bond between man and dog, etc...

Bottom line, the man did his time- more time than some do for crimes against humans. More time than Donte Stallworth just did for killing a human being while DUI.

It's all about the money now and the demise of traditional American Values. As far as vic goes, he has No self respect, No Pride!

I really feel as if I am truly out of touch with American society at this point. Guys like Vic, Stallworth, and even Michael Phelps with his weed photos essentually get a slap on the wrist or even a free pass for the stuff they get in to. Heck, even the media frenzy over Michael Jackson's death was enough to make me scratch my head. But someone like that Carrie Prejean gets ousted by the Miss America program for saying that in her opinion, marriage should be between a man and a woman. I just don't understand.

I'm from the Atlanta area. I'm not really a pro football fan, but around here it's hard to escape "Falcon Fever". I've never liked Mike Vic. He has always been a thug. However, I believe that he should now be free to play ball all he wants without the 5 game suspension... if someone wants him. He did something illegal and he did jail time for it. He did not violate any NFL rules and he should not be punished by the NFL. Still, if I were a team owner, he wouldn't make my staff. Ever.

In this country we have laws that prohibit "Double jeopardy" because of what people like me and you like to think what or what not should be. When Bernie Madoff gets out in a hundred and fifty years, he'll have surved his time and should be allowed to go and do what he likes, no matter how much money he stole. Same thing with Vic. I think he is a slime and doesn't deserve the life he lives but, like Gary says, he served his sentence. He is free to work at what he can get. But I don't have to and will not participate in any activity that he can gain profit from.

There should be a clause in every athletes contract that any illegal activity no matter what is grounds for termination. Do not pass go and do not collect your reward, entitlements or endorsements. I have a federal license to operate remote control locomotives and certain things will cause me to loose it forever, pro athletes are no different than me or anyone else for that matter. I have to live a clean life they should to.

Ok, how about an convicted arsonist, the crime is against property. Would you you want them as an electrician or gas line installer?



What about a convicted burglar? I think an appliance or cable TV install would be a great job for them.



And a convicted bank robber. An ATM repair person or better yet a bank teller.

Vick's crime was against animals, not football. I wouldn't want him to be my pet groomer, but if he wants to play football, I still say let him play. As far as that goes, if the arsonist, burglar, and bank robber have served their time, I say let them play football as well.

Vic was already on his way out of the NFL when he got in trouble. Will he find work again the NFL? I know there are a couple of teams out there that need a decent QB.



If this was a vet or other animal care position and they were caught with what Vic did they should have their licsence revoked. But he is not in that profession so let him play if he wants to.
