2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Vin #s how to find out gear ratio????

I would like to find out how to find the ratio with out using the dealer on a out of state truck using the vin, And I need to find out where the vin is on the frame so when I cut the frame I dont cut the vin#s as well as the cab too I need to cab clip it as well any help is great... 573 578 5000

There is a sticker on the underside of the hood that tells the ratio, if it is still there. Will say 3. 5 or 4. 1.

the vin# itself doesn't tell you what ratio it came with so you'd have to go through somebody that can run the vin

There is also a Tag on the diff (front and rear) that says the ratio.
