I would like to see some sort of survey that shows the correlation between acts of violence and the populations of those areas. I'm not just talking school stuff, but everything.

There once was an experiment done where they took a controlled area, a pond, and slowly started adding muskrats to it. Muskrats are pretty calm and cool little animals who stay out of trouble with each other. These scientist kept adding more and more muskrats in this area. They provided all the food the muskrats could ever dream of eating, so that food wouldnt be an issue for fighting. Before long, the muskrats started getting bored, angry, upset etc. and started attacking other muskrats... . for no reason. This progressed to killing other muskrats.

Do we have too many muskrats in the pond as humans? We always hear about the schools not having enough space/overcrowded class rooms. I wonder if the two could be related in any way?

I know we will always have the exceptions, like the guy who blew a school up back in the 30's or something, and killed more kids than any of the recent attacks that have made the media spotlight. It would be interesting to see if say, Boston (a large populated city) has a higher percentage of violent acts compared to say BFE Ohio, with its small population. Just a thought.

yup, those studies have been done... . somewhere in "Other" archives during the election time, and subsequent votecount fiasco, there's a very well-presented list of numeric comparisons of urban v. rural crime stats. also happens to coincide pretty closely with the "bush country" map that we've all seen: #ad
---some of the differences were as much as x13 of how many murders per 100000 population, and there were other crimes categorized as well, almost all of which were at least 2x more prevalent in the cities.

It makes me sick to my stomach to see the type of violence that happened during the past week in Seattle.

IT MAKES ME SICK!!!!!!!!!!!

hi, arlan----that's not the pile of stats i was looking for. the one i had in mind may have used yours as a source, but had it compiled by population density and specific crime, rather than state by state, and was much easier to interpret. It was real easy to decide that the "boonies" were the place to be. sure, crimes still happened there, but they were much more rare.

Here is part of the problem. We let them take the King of Honor out of our schools. We then let them take the Law of Honor out of our schools. AND then we let them take the Prayer of Honor out of our schools. Then to add insult to injury, we let them replace all of the above with condoms. What did we think we would end up with? Be not decieved, God will not be mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, THAT shall he also reap... ... ... ... ... . We are now reaping the seeds of the Honorless Generation we have raised. May God forgive us... ... .
