VIRUS ALERT!!!

I got that same email today, figured thats what it was. Did you open it or anything? How did you figure out it was a virus??? Did you open it? Is so what did it do?

I also got it, it is the W95. Hybris. Gen. dr virus. Symantex says it infects exe files, and is rare. That is all the info I can find on it. If it is rare, how do they find all of our names?? Could it be from one of the email bots that ran through the site a few weeks ago. I downloaded it, but renamed it a txt file when i saved it so it wouldnt execute. Norton antivirus didnt like that too much, wouldnt let me do anything with it not even delete it, till I told it to ignore it.

I got a wayward Email and notified our IT guy at work, yup, I do this while getting paid!!
Anyway, he said that he had gotten the notification from Macafee and that to expect it from hackers getting your email address from bulletin boards. Basically this board has been hacked and they may have all our addresses. The mail has an executable and if opened will do damage. Just reading the message does no harm with this virus. Always be careful opening anything with an exe, scr, vxr, some self extracting zip or others that run on their own.
This is not a joke man, It can do some serious damage to your machine.
I was just suprised to find it. Always be wary of email from people you don't recognize. Sorry to any of you who email me and I don't recognize you, you got deleted.

I had to deal with this on several occasions already, my friends got the virus and I had to help clean their system. Read about it here. It has actually been around for awhile.

The one that arrives with a title about the 7 dwarfs isn't particularly nasty... it merely begins emailing itself to everyone you send mail to.

Of course, that's not nice, either, but at least it's not mechanically destructive or antyhing.

I set my message filter to delete any message with hahaha in the sender field. So I dunno if I've received it lately. A couple of times I've noticed that it would receive some messages, but less than the number indicated would actually end up in my mail box. It may have been this virus or some other pests that are filtered out. Anyway, it would be a good idea to set your message filters to get rid of this one before you even see it.

There has been a news-group/bulletin board virus that hit my computer last night. This is the only bulletin board I frequent so I fear that we are all at risk!!!!

The virus is the Seven Dwarfs virus from Hahaha@sexyfun.net. Delete it immediately from your inbox and make sure its totally gone. I hope the culprit gets run down by a Cummins. #ad

I got that "snow white ha ha ha" e- mail long ago, about 3 months. Was warned by my computer nerd buddy... didn't open it. I delete whenever I do not recognize the sender. Also keep your anti-virus current. Got bit by a virus a couple years ago... had to get a new hard drive. a$$holes otta get a life or a productive rewarding hobby... CUMMINS perhaps!
