Since Macs aren't susceptible to computer viruses can they still transfer them?

Says who?

There may not be any or as many viruses written for the Mac but I'd suspect that they are just as susceptible to virues as the pc platform. A infected email attachment could be sent from a mac just as easily as it could be sent from a pc so you could still transfer it. If it was a pc specific virus obviously the mac couldn't get infected but you could physicaly send it to someone with a pc.
