Virus Scan

Hey all, I need some computer help. My buddy profile for AIM infected my cousins fiancee's computer w/a virus somehow when she looked at it, and I feel bad. Do any of you know of a free virus scanner she can download to try and fix it. She said the virus is called bloodworm or something, and when you turn the computer on, a ton of pop-ups come up and shuts down the computer. Any and all help is appreciated.

The virus you have is probably called the Gabber which my son got while at college the week before he came home. What it does is each time you open your AIM it sends out instant messages saying something like this and it will be from you... Hey click here and check this out... Thats what got him he was dumb enough and had his firewall off and it got him. It was in so many of the college kids at his school they did a class on it during one of his computer sciences classes. Its easy to get rid of and hopefully you will be able to head it off at the pss before AOL removes her screen name for sending out viruses even though she did't even realize she was doing it. I called them for himw when he returned home and they would not reopen his account and we had to redo him with a new screen name. His AIM buddy list info was lost as they completely delete it. BTW. . I asked a friend of mine who spends a little too much time on the internet for those for you. Some would say he is cheap,he would tell you he makes wise use of free resources,LOL.
