Actually, I think it shows that it doesn't make any difference. New OEMs don't have that cast into their housings and, obviously, once mounted it is stored vertically. When they get worn out, they leak. If one leaks shortly after being stored for a few weeks, I believe it would have leaked after the same number of revolutions if it had not been R&Rd.
